Course News:
The Billy Pierson Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, March 7th. JOHN DALY will be placed on the 1st tee and all teams will have the option to donate $50 for John's drive. All proceeds from this year's tournament will be going to Lori Pierson, Billy's wife. Next year they intend to develop this tournament into a 2 or 3 day event where all proceeds will be donated to Make A Wish Foundation, Billy's Charity of Choice. THE GOLF CHANNEL will also be attending filming for Daly's upcoming TV series, "Being John Daly." Spectators are encouraged to come out. Please take note that the main parking lot will be for tournament participants and media only, parking passes have been issued for this area. Additional parking will be located by the Par 3 Course. The tournament will begin at 10am followed by an award ceremony and a performance by the former lead singer of KANSAS.
Tip From The Pro:
Left Thumb On Right Side. If the left hand does not support the club well, it will cause the clubhead to slow before impact, and contact will feel "dead." So, it's important that the left hand be positioned correctly to withstand the force of impact. As you close your left hand around the club, make sure that the middle of your left thumb is well to the right of the top-center of the shaft, rather than right on the top.
Test by hitting one-handed chip shots with our left thumb placed on the right side of the grip, then by hitting some with our left thumb on top. The difference in the feel at impact will convince you that you'll get a much more solid feel - and more speed - by moving your left thumb to the right.
