Three Ways To Stop Shanking
Golf's Most feared fault is the shanked iron. This happens when the club's hosel meets the ball, so that the ball squirts far right of the target. Three tips to stop shanking are as follows:
1. Stand one inch father from the ball, and make sure your arms are comfortably away from your body at address.
2. Put your weight more toward your toes at address so that if anything, you'll "sit back" a bit though impact, helping insure the hosel doesn't strike the ball.
3. Focus your eyes on the nearest or "inside" part of the ball, and aim to swing the clubhead through the spot.
